Bike & Boat: Along the Bacchiglione loops GB16

The departure of the Tour will take place from Abano Terme, we will leave by bike towards the city of Padua, where in Bassanello we will embark and sail along a suggestive naturalistic river itinerary characterized by a meandering path, composed of river bends and banks thick with willows, poplars , plane trees and alders. In the background the unmistakable silhouettes of the Euganean Hills. After passing the point of confluence with the Brentella Canal, the boat proceeds slowly, often accompanied by cheerful brigades of canoeists and rowers, plunging into the unique bends and wide floodplains of the river Selvazzano, lying along the banks of the Bacchiglione river, was a river port once used to load stones and products from the Euganean Hills and until 1913 the site of ancient mills. We took our bikes again along the river and we will visit the Castle of San Martino della Veneza, an ancient stronghold that served as a reference for all river traffic. After a refreshment stop we will resume the road that will take us back to Abano along the cycle path of the Euganean Hills.
