Details of the tour In the Land of St. Anthony of Padua

This bike tour allows you to discover the province of Padua along the path named after St Anthony, in the heart of the places where the saint lived, discovering routes through history and culture without giving up the lush nature of the surroundings.

Camposampiero was the town that hosted the “Saint”, as he was friendly called by the Paduans for almost all of his life. St. Anthony arrived in Padua only when he was on the point of death; in fact, he left Camposampiero along a path that today takes his name and headed for Padua where he died.

From Camposampiero, as well as this famous route of the Saint, there are also other beautiful cycle paths that allow you to visit numerous historical, naturalistic and monumental sites.

Travel programme

Check-in

Arrival at the hotel on Friday afternoon, in the evening the tour leader will contact you for a presentation of the tours and a description of the routes.

Day 2 (Km 60)Camposampiero-Padova

Along the path of St. Anthony, we will reach Padua, the city is surrounded by rivers and can be circumnavigated thanks to a ring of river cycling, but our goal is the city centre with its beautiful squares, palaces, the university that has given so much to Padua.
After a visit to the city centre, we head towards the Brenta Riviera to reach one of the most magical places on the tour, i.e., the beautiful Villa Pisani in Stra, a royal palace that hosted – among others – Napoleon and that houses frescoes by the most famous painters of the Venetian Republic.

Day 3 (Km 50) Camposampiero Cittadella

The second excursion takes us to Cittadella, a fortified town with well-preserved walls and the highest wall walk in Europe. This town was built to defend Padua’s territories at the time of the Ezzelini family, who dominated the Treviso area; the defensive walls are surrounded by a moat that still exists today.

Along secondary roads immersed in the Brenta Park we will then reach the cycle path that will take us back to Camposampiero.
