Tour di Padova Bike & Boat GB15

The meeting place for this tour is Abano Terme in Piazza Morosini, at 2.00 pm, after the introductions we will leave in the direction of the city of Padua along the Battaglia canal where near the Bassanello we will find the boat waiting for us. The Bassanello ancient village of boatmen and the beginning of navigation; you enter the nineteenth-century “Drain Channel” until you cross the “Conca di Voltabarozzo”, which allows you to overcome a difference in height of 3.50 meters. We go up along the “Canale del Piovego” and after passing under the medieval “Ponte dei Graissi” we sail along a suggestive river route between the internal canals of the city, admiring its monuments and the ancient Venetian Renaissance walls from a privileged perspective. After the sixteenth-century stairway of “Porta Portello”, an ancient river port of Padua, with the magnificent portal in Istrian stone, you will navigate along the gardens of the Roman Arena and go under the Corso del Popolo bridge. Disembarkation at the Conca di Porte Contarine in the heart of Padua, a stone’s throw from the Scrovegni Chapel. Let’s get back on the bicycle to take a quick tour of the Squares of Padua, where you can immerse yourself in city life and maybe even savor a good typical aperitif before returning to Abano to the places of origin in time for dinner.
